This modem picks up the Caller ID signal every time. Excellent product. I use it with Vonage and CallSoft software. I'm very happy with it. I cannot comment on the dialup performance since I do not use it for that. I just use it to announce who is calling and it works great.
If you want your computer to work like an modem/fax/answering machine combination, here you go, this will fill the bill. This isn't brain surgery folks, it's a modem/fax with caller ID capability. It does what it's supposed to do. It's been working in my server for about a year now, collecting all the caller IDs and does so without a hiccup. Of course, you will want to obtain some REAL software to take advantage of this hardware - the stuff that comes with it is worth what you pay for it - zero.
We use super voice pro 6 for a fax on demand system and these modems work just fine
This must be a WinModem type of modem. Maybe the Jaton modem didn't recognize my Creative SoundBlaster Audigy 2. I bought it to use with Phone Tray Free, which requires a modem with Caller ID and Voice capabilities. Neither worked with Phone Tray Free. I went back to my US Robotics 56K V.90 Faxmodem, Model 5687 bought back in 1998, which doesn't have Voice but does recognize Caller ID in this particular software. I'm still trying to find a non-ambient Caller ID/Voice PCI modem.
